Facilitating Communication

 Facilitating Communication:

Many people with mental disabilities have trouble expressing themselves verbally (Leonard, 2019). Alternative means of expression are provided by visual communication tools like symbol boards, picture exchange systems, and communication apps (Barnhart, 2023). These tools assist people in communicating their needs, desires, and emotions to others effectively. Verbal communication is sometimes affected by schizophrenia, making it difficult for people to express themselves (Dylan, 2023).

That is true. I was just reading about an incident where a disabled child was denied from going on a school trip because of his disability. People were upset with this behaviour of the school administration. We definitely need to take action against such actions and provide better accommodations for disabled children.
