Enhancing Social Skills

Enhancing Social Skills:

Visual cues can help people with mental disabilities comprehend and interpret social cues. Social stories, which depict social situations and appropriate behavior using visual narratives, aid in the understanding of social norms, emotions, and interpersonal interactions (Communication, 2023). As a result, they become more socially and are better able to interact with others. Individuals with depression may benefit from social stories, which combine text and visual narratives to explain social expectations, norms, and appropriate behavior in various social contexts (Daneshvar et al., 2018). Individuals with depression can also benefit from visual cues that encourage eye contact or show that they are paying attention through their body language (Recognizing Depression, n.d.).

I agree with your views. People with disabilities are often kept separate from the general public. Social media is a great tool to help them connect to the outer world. They can even reach out to others who share similar experiences and maybe create a group of some kind where can talk and listen to each other.
